I provide two approaches for treating chronic pain one is psychotherapy and the other is Svaroopa® yoga. I find people tend toward one or the other and occasionally people choose to practice both. When we think about managing pain we often think about what we can do to stop it. Although having that kind of relationship to pain is completely understandable, it doesn’t allow us an actual experience of it. Therefore it may seem worse than it actually is. Sometimes the simple act of bringing your attention to what is actually happening right now with psychotherapy or yoga or both makes it tolerable. Disciplining ourselves to stay present and bringing our attention back to this moment is scientifically proven to change your brain.
